Following the release of two exceptional mini- albums ‘Dap Bag’ and ‘Council Pop’ via Southern Records, Flyscreen were snapped up by the grande fromages at MCA/Universal, touring with the likes of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Bush, No Doubt, The Offspring, and Girls Against Boys, being tipped by the trendy haircuts in the music press and generally lording it about town. The releases came thick and fast and the band won much eulogising and even got a mention by Paul Flynn, MP, in Parliament.
It all imploded of course, like all good things rock and roll, but thankfully the Newport punkerteers came back with ‘Only Dirty People Wash’, 26 minutes of downright filth and their first studio album since ‘Girls Can’t Make Gun Noises’ in 1998.
